The Honda NSX was produced between 1990 and 2005, at a time when the Japanese motor industry was booming and Honda’s racing engines had been dominating Formula one for several seasons. Honda decided to showcase its technology and Formula 1 expertise and take the fight to the supercars from the West.
To achieve this the NSX was fitted with a powerful 3L VTEC V6 engine and was the first production car to feature an all-aluminium monocoque body, including an extruded aluminium alloy frame and suspension. Other features included a suspension compliance pivot to help maintain wheel alignment changes, 4 channel anti lock brakes, an electric power steering system and Honda’s VTEC variable valve timing system. The engine boasted titanium connecting rods (a first for a production car), forged pistons and a high 8000 rpm redline. The NSXs were assembled by around 200 of Honda’s highest-skilled and most experienced engineers, hand picked to run the NSX operation.
7 years after launch the NSX received its first performance upgrade as the V6 was bored out to 3179cc combined with a 6 speed gearbox, larger brakes and wider wheels. The final incarnation was introduced in 2002 in the form of a facelift which replaced the pop-up headlights with fixed units reducing weight and drag coefficient.

Finished in Formula red this NSX is quite simply breathtaking. The deep glossy red paintwork is in magnificent condition, unmarked all over and a perfect match for the cars angular lines.
Stand next to this car and it feels like an out and out race car and propels itself into the heights of super car stature far beyond its German and Italian rivals. The cars condition can only be described as new, to us this car has been pampered beyond belief and garaged all of its life.
Pull the high mounted door handle to reveal a deep side sill tattooed with its Honda NSX build plaque and number. The interior is finished in soft black leather; a perfect combination with the red paintwork and the aerodynamic lines of NSX as a whole. The bucket seats are in pristine condition and hug both passenger and driver while the steering column protrudes a fair distance from the dash to meet the drivers hands in a comfortable and race-like driving position.
The clock shows a mere 35,764 miles which is echoed through the condition of the interior, the steering wheel remaining unworn and retaining a deep texture while the dash and center console are stitched in leather. All of the controls work as they should with many small leavers and pulls dotted around the cabin to open the front, boot, rear glass panel and engine compartment. All spare tools are present and stored neatly under the carpet in the boot.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The sensational VTEC equipped high revving V6 is in perfect, fully serviced condition and sounds epic. The gearbox retains it’s short positive throw as it left the factory. It has only ever been looked after by the main dealer and has undergone its cambelt service in 2012, which needs to be replaced every 8 years.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The fully forged lightweight alloy wheels are unmarked and wrapped in matching Bridgestone Potenza tyres. The discs and pads all have plenty of life left.
The history file is complete with service book, spare key and owners manuals. The service book is fully stamped by Honda main dealers and there is a large amount of invoices that back up the service work. In particular the car had its cambelt changed in 2012 with the most recent service in March this year; a simple oil and filter change at Geo Collins in March 2016 at 33,864.
